Vice President of Leisure Sales, Tropicana Las Vegas
Donna Marcou-Stafford is the vice president of Leisure Sales for the Tropicana Las Vegas, responsible for the overall production of leisure sales in domestic, international, travel agent/professional, consortia, corporate and OTA markets. Since its transformation, Marcou-Stafford has served an essential role in promoting the Tropicana Las Vegas, including its hotel rooms, restaurants, venues and more.
Prior to her current position, Marcou-Stafford worked at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino for over ten years, serving as the vice president of leisure sales and playing an integral role in the pre-opening sales operations. Marcou-Stafford also held notable positions with hotels and resorts in the Los Angeles area and Arizona, including as the regional director of international sales with Hilton Hotel Corporation (Hilton Worldwide) and as the director of sales for Planet Hollywood Restaurant & Bars in Beverly Hills and Sheraton Hotels and Resorts in Arizona, among others.
Marcou-Stafford has been a member of several professional organizations including the United States Tour Operators Association, Skal International, Japan America Society, the National Tour Association, Tourism Cares and was on the planning committee for three years for the U.S. Travel Association’s International Pow Wow. She also works closely with the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors’ Authority (LVCVA) for travel industry events and is part of the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce’s President’s Club.
Marcou-Stafford has been honored with numerous awards including the Leisure Sales Person of the Year award with Hilton Hotel Corporation (HWW) and the prestigious Most Valuable Partner award with Starwood Hotels & Resorts. She has been showcased in the “Las Vegas Woman Magazine” Local Ladies feature as well as in the Executive Spotlight of the “Las Vegas Business Press.”
Traveling isn’t just part of Marcou-Stafford’s job – it’s also her biggest passion. She has traveled to over 30 countries and enjoys meeting new people and seeing all the cultures of the world.
Leisure and Business Sales Manager, Tropicana Las Vegas
Elsa Gomez is the leisure and business sales manager for the Tropicana Las Vegas, responsible for promoting the Tropicana Las Vegas by working with leisure and corporate clients. She has played an integral role in arranging and hosting over 40 group FAMs (familiarization trips) each year to familiarize travel agents with the Tropicana Las Vegas.
Gomez joined the Tropicana Las Vegas in 2010 and brings over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry. She started her career in the early ’90s with the Hilton Los Angeles Airport, where she worked in front desk operations and subsequently moved into a sales position. From 1995 to 2006, Gomez served as the director of business and leisure sales for The Westin Los Angeles Airport and The Westin Long Beach. During this time, she was recognized by Starwood Hotels & Resorts as a member of the $2 million revenues sales club. In 2006, Gomez relocated to Las Vegas and worked in leisure group sales for Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino until 2010.
Gomez loves the variety her job brings with each day and thrives on the passion she shares with her team. In her spare time, she volunteers with such organizations as Dreams Take Flight.
Leisure Sales Associate, Tropicana Las Vegas
Liz Ofte is a leisure sales associate for the the Tropicana Las Vegas, where she works with travel agents, meets with travel professionals at trade shows and gives site tours in order to promote the property worldwide.
Ofte has worked for over six years in the hospitality industry, beginning with Caesars Entertainment in 2008, where she worked in convention sales before joining the Tropicana Las Vegas and moving into leisure sales.
Ofte loves introducing clients to the property and helping these individuals make their clients’ vacations amazing.
